Introducing The Official SU Blog

Since the launch of its new website (www.servicemembersunited.org) in December of 2007, SU has maintained a blogroll of original blogs by SU members who blog on behalf of the organization but from their own unfiltered perspectives about their own unique experiences as gay and straight servicemembers and veterans. The recent decision by SU's leadership to take the organization to the next level, open a full-time office in Washington, and carve out a more active role in the DADT Repeal Movement, however, led to the acknowledgement of the need moving forward for an organizational blog as well. While the diverse and content-rich blogs of officials SU member blogggers will continue to provide comfort, entertainment, analysis, perspective, and a window into the world of both gay and straight servicemembers and veterans, an "official" organization blog will now be added to that list.

The SU organizational blog will naturally be less personal and personalized than the SU member blogs, as it will serve as the main repository for official announcements, press releases, and organizational positions and analysis. Nevertheless, The Official Servicemembers United Blog will be a valuable source of information about the "Don't Ask, Don't Tell" issue, the DADT-Repeal Movement, the gay veteran diaspora, and Servicemembers United.
